1810 England, the height of the Napoleonic wars. It was thought that humans walked the path of enlightenment leaving monsters and dark things behind. However, those monsters and night stalkers merely hide in the darkness, as a young maid, Bernadette, soon finds out.
Last page of chapter 13! The French army marches on their target! What will our intrepid... are they really heroes? This isn't really that kind of story though. Heh, Super Bernadette... or maybe Bat-Angela!
The English commander, who, unless I am very much mistaken, is Bernadette's old boss, Lord Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. Ever since our heroes departed to Portugal, a part of me has suspected that we'd encounter him again. Wery sneaky.
Hi! I've been reading your comic for a while now and wanted to finally take a moment to offer my compliments on the story and artwork. I find Rebecca has the most elegant drawing style I've seen in webcomics and I love seeing her work here as well as at Amya. But I find myself similarly impressed with the story and characters. This is unusual for me as I typically dislike vampire stories. But I find myself genuinely charmed by Lady Angela, and I sympathize with Bernadette and want to see her overcome her demons.
At any rate, congratulations on thirteen chapters! I'm anxious to see how the story unfolds.
@introvertedchaos: You are correct about the English commander. Although it should be noted that he isn't named Duke of Wellington until after Napoleon's defeat.
I'm glad you're enjoying it. This isn't really a vampire story. This is a story about people, about Bernadette in particular. I never thought of it as a vampire story, I always thought of it as her story.
